Community Supported Agriculture programs, known as CSAs, are a great way to ensure you have lots of vegetables every week to prepare and eat. Today Ellen Goldsmith speaks with Shari Raider, founder and owner of Sauvie Island Organics in Portland, Oregon. Sauvie Island Organics fed over 750 families through their CSA program, and provided local, organic vegetables to numerous restaurants, as well as to a local hospital’s cafeteria. Fresh food is on the way and a CSA is a great way to get it. Eat your vegetables!
Now that Sauvie Island Organics has closed their work continues through the Sauvie Island Center, educating youth on farming, food an sustainability. Learn more here.
