Dr. Misty Story is a board certified naturopathic physician licensed in the state of Oregon and a member of the Oregon Association of Naturopathic Physicians. She is a graduate of the National University of Natural Medicine (NUNM) in Portland, Oregon, where she received advanced training in naturopathic gastroenterology during a six-month mentorship with Steven Sandberg-Lewis, N.D. She participated in naturopathic mental health rotation for nine months at an NUNM community clinic through Pacific University. Her Bachelor of Science degree is in Integrative Therapeutics from Metropolitan State University of Denver, the first pre-med program in the nation oriented in educating and preparing students for naturopathic medical programs.
Her areas of expertise include the treatment of SIBO (small intestine bacterial overgrowth), Celiac Disease, GERD (gastro-esophageal reflux disease), IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome) and the treatment of stress, insomnia, anxiety, and depression. She has extensive experience in helping people improve their health integrating conventional and naturopathic care with nutritional and lifestyle changes. She is passionate about best serving her patients in their journey through education, encouragement and continued research.
She loves working with children and people of all ages. Personal experience in the diagnosis and treatment of IBS and Celiac Disease has provided Dr. Story with insight and compassion for the difficulty of the journey to better health. Family experience with mental health conditions, Alzheimer’s Disease, heart disease, autoimmune disease, and women’s health issues have been additional impacts for her drive to help others.
Dr. Story loves gardening, cooking, baking, canning, and hunting with her husband, along with spending time with her daughter, grandson, German Short-haired Pointer and two cats. She believes in being a forever student, curious in life, building community and healthy living.
