Acupuncture and Chinese medicine supports your body’s innate capacity to heal

Dating back more that 3,000 years, Chinese medicine is the oldest and most continuously practiced complete medical systems in the world. Ancient Chinese Daoists, sages and physicians worked with the only resource they had to help people stay healthy: foods, plants and herbs, as well as the power of the human body. They developed physical techniques and exercises to build and maintain vigor and vitality.

Chinese medicine is patient centered: every person is unique, every pattern of ill health is individual and thus so is one’s treatment. The umbrella of Chinese medicine includes: acupuncture, herbal medicine, food as medicine, bodywork and mind-body practices.

The services I provide are to support your capacity to heal, regain internal balance and feel whole. Decades of experience in acupuncture, herbal medicine, food as medicine and teaching inform my services.

Acupuncture:

Acupuncture, the physical therapy branch of Chinese medicine, has been utilized for thousands of years in Asia as a therapy to improve health. It has seen rapid acceptance in the West. It is most widely known for its positive impact on the reduction of many types of pain issues.

Your first acupuncture treatment is just the beginning of your path towards transforming your health, reducing stress, increasing energy, and building an internal sense of balance and well-being.

Chinese Herbal Medicine:

For thousands of years herbal medicine has been utilized to help people heal.  Herbal prescriptions are a stronger nourishment than food and are used to support acupuncture treatment. Chinese herbal medicine is not a one size fits all. By evaluating your condition herbs are recommended to treat you. Herbs are often used to treat conditions from colds and flu, to headaches, digestive and energy issues, insomnia and women’s health issues to promote healing and support innate vitality.

Food as Medicine Consultations:

“Medicine and food share the same origin.” - common expression in Chinese medical theory

Changing our food can be challenging but if simply by changing what and how we eat our health improves, wouldn’t you want to sign up for that?

I start with you! Who you are, what your cultural food traditions are and your lifestyle. Are you a parent working and providing meals for your family? Are you a student? Do you have a certain diet you have been following that is not working for you?

I start at the beginning and help you gain mastery over how you eat to maximize your energy, pleasure and health.

In order to thrive you need to feel our best physically, mentally and emotionally. We are what we eat and we are what we digest.
